Port of Patras

Third largest city in Greece with the best route to the island of Ithaca out of Athens. It's a 4 hour ride from Athens along the Gulf of Corinth to Patras which is beautiful.

Rio-Antirrio Bridge

This bridge is near Patras and joins the Peloponnese Peninsula to the mainland. It looks like ships' sails from a distance and was built with hydraulic posts to withstand earthquakes. This day was very windy crossing the strait on a motorcycle. I had to lean hard into the wind just to stay upright.

Rio Bridge

Ride from the mainland across the bridge to Patras. It was a beautiful calm day that I rode from Igoumenitsa to Athens via the bridge.

Patras Castle

This Venetian fortress overlooks the city and ocean for an amazing panoramic view. Swarms of swallows filled the air and it was a quiet place to escape to from the chaos of the port city. My bike is a 2025 Honda 500NX from MotoRent Athens
